Our Founder - Amed Khan

Amed Khan

Founder

Amed Khan is a human rights defender, political activist and philanthropist. He has an active career in both the public and private sectors, including many years of experience in humanitarian crises. Amed Khan has worked for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Tanzania where he was Head & Logistics Manager overseeing the overall administration and financial management of the refugee camp.

He is the founder and chairman of the Zaka Khan Foundation. He is also a member of the International Crisis Group and a board member of the International Refugee Assistance Project.

Amed Khan has graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and lives in New York, USA.
Since the start of the refugee crisis in Greece in 2015, Amed Khan has been a part of numerous humanitarian aid missions. The result of the above action was the creation of the first model accommodation center for vulnerable refugee families in Thessaloniki.

To this day, Amed Khan continues to be active in humanitarian work. Recently his actions have focused on the humanitarian crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
